Dr Vidya Prabhu in clinic

01

Clinical experience

Dr Vidya's work spans general practice, women's health, medical education and the development of coordinated care pathways.

She has particular experience in pelvic pain, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause, sexual health, contraception and complex health concerns. In a previous corporate women's health leadership role, she helped develop pelvic pain and endometriosis pathways designed to support more consistent and multidisciplinary care.

Her clinical experience informs an approach that considers the immediate concern, possible contributing factors and what may need review over time.

Dr Vidya's approach to care

02

Her approach to care

Understand the pattern before deciding what comes next.

Dr Vidya believes healthcare works best as a partnership. She gives patients room to explain what has been happening, including symptoms that may seem unrelated or have changed across different stages of life.

Her role is to investigate appropriately, explain the clinical reasoning in clear language and involve the patient in decisions about treatment, monitoring and referral.

This does not mean every concern will have an immediate or simple answer. It means the next step should have a clear reason behind it.

03

Medical education and leadership

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Vidya is involved in training and educating doctors. Her work has included GP training, medical education and mentoring future practitioners.

She has held leadership and committee roles within professional networks supporting women in general practice and women in health. These roles reflect a wider commitment to improving how women's health is understood and managed within primary care.

Lived experience informing care

04

Lived experience

Dr Vidya also brings personal experience of navigating healthcare for pelvic pain, adenomyosis and perimenopause. This perspective informs her understanding of how difficult it can be to describe symptoms, find continuity and know what to ask next.

Her lived experience supports her clinical perspective but does not replace evidence-based assessment or the individual needs of each patient.
