Mental Health in Midlife: Navigating Women’s Health
Hormonal changes, emotional wellbeing and practical strategies
Midlife can bring changes that are difficult to recognise, explain or manage.
Changes in mood, sleep, concentration, confidence and emotional resilience may occur alongside the hormonal and physiological changes of perimenopause and menopause. These experiences are real, but they are not always understood or discussed openly.
Join Dr Vidya Prabhu and psychologist Lepi Cvetanovic for an informed and practical conversation about mental health during midlife.
Together, they will explore what may be changing, why the experience can feel so different for every woman, and how medical understanding and psychological strategies can work together to support wellbeing.

What we will discuss
Hormonal and physiological changes in midlife
Presented by Dr Vidya Prabhu
Dr Vidya will explain the biological changes that can occur during perimenopause and menopause, including how shifting hormones may influence:
- 01
mood and emotional regulation
- 02
anxiety and irritability
- 03
sleep and energy
- 04
concentration and memory
- 05
confidence and sense of self
- 06
existing mental health concerns
She will also discuss why not every midlife symptom should automatically be attributed to hormones, and why a broader assessment can be important.
Her approach brings together evidence-based psychological tools with a warm, supportive and non-judgmental perspective.
